BENGALURU: The state government has planned to approach the Supreme Court questioning the Karnataka High Court order in the KPSC recruitment scam case wherein it ordered the constitution of a special investigation team (SIT) under IPS officer Alok Kumar.
Chief Minister D K Shivakumar had on Tuesday questioned the high court order on the SIT investigation saying that the court can order for formation of an SIT, and added that the court instructing officers is not right.

“There is no objection, our police have already investigated and are doing a very good job. In the meantime, the ED has also come in. Let them do it, there is no objection. But one thing is that our people were doing it very competently. They can form an SIT, but I don’t know how the high court can interfere in it. There have been several directions in the past as well. We will legally examine who should be appointed and who should be left out. The decision should be left to the government. If the CID does not do their work properly, they can do whatever they want. Otherwise, the High Court can monitor the ongoing investigation report”, CM Shivakumar had said.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has completely concluded its investigation, so there is no necessity of SIT investigation. Thus, the government is planning to approach the Supreme Court against the high court decision. Also, the government is not keen on the formation of an SIT under leadership of Alok Kumar, sources said.
