Sringeri Sharada mutt seers to consecrate idol of Goddress Sharada Devi at Teetwal

CHIKKAMAGALUR: Sringeri Sharada Mutt seers Bharati Tirtha and Vidhushekara Bharati will be visiting Teetwal in Kashmir on June 5 for the consecration of the idol of Goddess Sharada Devi at the newly reconstructed temple there.

Kashmiri Pandits had taken up reconstruction of the temple, which was destroyed by Islamic forces from Pakistan in 1948, with the blessings of the Sringeri mutt seer. After the abrogation of Article 370, the reconstruction was taken up and opened on Ugadi festival day. The Sringeri seers will now perform the idol installation ceremony at the reconstructed temple.

Sringeri Mutt seers will visit Teetwal on June 5 for the consecretion of the idol.

On March 18, a group of Kashmiri Pandits had taken a panchaloha idol of Goddess Sharada Devi from Sringeri which was installed on March 22 at the Sharda Yatra Temple at Teetwal. The Sringeri mutt seers will now consecrate the idol at the Sharda Sarvajna Peetha on the request of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
