Speeding motorcycle rider falls after losing control, crushed to death by other vehicles

HASSAN, CHIKKAMAGALUR: A speeding motorcycle rider who had fallen on the road after losing control was run over by some vehicles, crushing him to death, on the Channarayapatna bypass road. The deceased is Rakesh V R (27), hailing from Gowri Koppal in Hassan who was working as a finance associate at the Grand Mercure Bengaluru Gopalan Mall.

Rakesh fell on the road after losing control of his motorcycle (KA-13-EY-7776), but was run over by some 3-4 vehicles coming from behind. All the drivers fled the scene. One of the cars which tried to avoid running over Rakesh’s body hit the road divided and the occupants sustained minor injuries. The Channarayapatna traffic police visited the spot and registered a case.

In another accident involving a motorcycle and a truck near Tangali in Kadur taluk of Chikkamagalur district, a 25-year-old woman died while her husband, a police gunman for the Additional SP, is battling for life.

Jayanna and his wife Suma were on their way to the railway station when the truck, coming up the wrong side, collided with their motorcycle. While Suma died on the spot, Jayanna was rushed to the McGann Hospital in Shivamogga.

Jayanna was on his way to Davanagere to report for work when the accident occurred. The Kadur police visited the spot and registered a case.—————————–
