BENGALURU: The city woke up to a horrific accident where a speeding car (KA 51 MK 5416) ran over four pedestrians and even knocked down a motorcyclist.
One person, identified as Suresh (28), died on the spot while three hotel workers and a student are said to be in a serious condition in hospital. Another parked car and a motorcycle were also damaged.
The incident occurred around 7.30 am, when the car, heading towards Ittamadu from Kathriguppe side, lost control. The Banashankari police have arrested the car driver Mukesh, an assistant director for TV serials.
Mukesh was returning after winding up shooting, along with the director Srinivas Thimmaiah, when the incident occurred.
“The car was coming down at high speed on the sloping road towards Ittamadu when the driver lost control due to negligence”, said DCP (traffic-west) Kuldeep Kumar Jain.
