BENGALURU: A police superintendent with the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE) Kashi, has filed a complaint with DG&IGP M A Saleem against the Mangaluru police commissioner Sudhir Kumar Reddy alleging mental harassment and bias.
SP Kashi wrote a letter to the DG&IGP Saleem requesting 30 minutes time to ‘expose’ the ‘misdeeds’ of the Mangaluru Commissioner. Kashi noted that he is on the verge of retirement and stated that memos are being issued back-to-back. He said that he is instructed to work as directed, otherwise memos and are issued to mentally harass him.
He also alleged that Kannadiga officers are being targeted and tortured and that written complaints have been filed several times against the injustice. The letter requests an opportunity for a meeting within a week to speak openly and expose the misdeeds.
Regarding the allegations of harassment, SP Kashi said, “I recently wrote a letter and sought an opportunity. I will speak when they give me time. Right now, I cannot say what those matters are.” “If time is not given, I will explain in detail. Many senior officers have committed atrocities against Kannadigas. It is only Kannada officers who are dying. My intention is to bring the atrocities against Kannadigas to the government’s notice”.
“There are other officers including Sudhir Kumar Reddy. If given time, I will provide evidence with documents. They commit atrocities because we do not fulfill their selfish interests. Whether the government investigates or not, we will voice our grievances”. “They don’t even hold a grievance redressal meeting with us. There is no one to ask about our difficulties. That is why I have asked to meet the DG&IGP myself”, Kashi said.
In another case, DCRE (West) police inspector Sreenivasa T R has alleged harassment by DCRE SP Karibasavanagouda and the Deputy SP Mahesh Goudar. In a video message, he warned of committing suicide if the harassment continued.
He alleged that the transfer order was fudged and sent to senior officials and claimed that Dalit officers were being unjustly treated while appealing to the AHINDA government to intervene.
