MYSURU: South India’s first Vande Bharat train, which will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 11, completed the trial runs successfully on Monday.
The train left Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) station in Bengaluru at 10.30 am and reached Mysuru railway station at 12.15 pm, covering the distance in just one hour and 45 minutes.
The coaches have a host of passenger comforts including swivel seats which can turn 360 degrees, foot rest, food/reading tray, a hi-tech pantry among other features. The train has Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches, which are said to are safer and also offer better riding comfort, compared to the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) coaches.
On November 11, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Vande Bharat (Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru) train from Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru City Junction. It was a long-pending demand of the people of Karnataka and PM Modi will be flagging off this high-speed train, said officials.
