BELAGAVI: A soldier, Naresh Yellappa (28), from Degavan village in Kittur taluk, Belagavi district, committed suicide by jumping into a lake in Parasannanatti village on Saturday evening.
He had been serving in the Indian Army for the past five years and had come to his village on leave 20 days ago. He was supposed to report back to duty on November 24, but took his own life, raising several suspicions.
PSI Praveen Gangola, PSI Praveen Khoti, and other staff visited the spot and conducted an investigation.
