Software firm employee dies after scooter tyre bursts, hits guard rail on NICE Road

Sulochana died after a freak accident on NICE Road.

BENGALURU: An electronics engineer working with a private software company in Koramangala died after the two-wheeler she was riding pillion on hit a road divider NICE Road after one of the tyres burst near Hosakerehalli on Sunday.

Sulochana (24), a resident of Ittamadu, and her friend Anand had gone to Koramangala on Sunday and when they were returning via NICE Road, one of the scooter tyres burst, throwing them towards the guard rails. Both sustained serious injuries, including in the head, and some other road users shifted them to a private hospital. From there, Sulochana was shifted to Victoria Hospital where she died on Monday.

It is said that Anand was wearing a full face helment while Sulochana was wearing a half helmet. Meanwhil, Anand is battling for his life in hospital.

“She had planned to construct a house. She had told her mother that she would get married after constructing a house. Her mother had struggled very hard to ensure that she completed her education. The hospital authorities initially assured the mother that Sulochana will survive, but around 4 am, they said she had died. The hospital authorities have been negligent”, said her uncle Bharat.

Sulochana hailed from Mandya and was living in Ittamadu. She would commute for work to Koramangala every day and had joined the company in Koramangala 3rd Block about one-and-half years ago.
