SM Krishna had contributed to the renovation of three temples in his native village before his death.

MANDYA: Former Chief Minister and former External Affairs Minister S M Krishna, who died in Bengaluru on Tuesday at the age of 92, had donated Rs 45 lakh for the renovation of threee temples in his native village Somanahalli in the district.

Krishna had contributed to the development of the Anjaneya Swamy, Maramma and Boredeva temples and coincidentally passed away after the completion of the 48 days mandala puja of the temple. During the 48-day period, Krishna had been keeping ill health.

A letter Krishna wrote to his friend in 1965 is now going viral.

Meanwhile, in the last letter he wrote, Krishna wished success for the 87th Kannada Sahitya Sammelan which is being held in Mandya. The letter was addressed to the district administration.

Interestingly, a letter he had written 60 years ago, dated 25-12-1965, in Kannada from Tokyo to his friend Anedoddi Thammaiah, has gone viral on social media.
