CHAMARAJANAGAR: Six people, including children, who were stuck on a rock amid strong currents of the Cauvery river at Nadugadde near Shivanasamudra in Kollegal taluk, were rescued by locals using a coracle.
A family, including a man, three women and three children were frolicking in the water when they got stuck on a rock as the water level suddenly increased and they could not make their way back to safety.
Locals immediately swung into action to rescue the family using a coracle and moved them to safety. The family had come from Bengaluru on a picnic.
