Six arrested for killing man, dumping body near railway track

BENGALURU: Six people have been arrested by the Cantonment Railway Police for murdering a man and dumping his body near the railway track in Solur.

The murdered Saddam was from Umar Saab Palya in Solur. The accused had brought the body on a bike and dumped it near the railway track and his naked body was found on July 1. A case was registered at Bengaluru Rural Railway Police Station in this regard.

The Cantonment Railway Police took up the case and the investigation was conducted by Inspector Veeranna Magi and team. The railway police went through CCTV footage and caught Mubarak, Fardeen @ Addu, Abhi, Pramod, Shoaib and another accused.

Saddam was a local rowdy who used used to repeatedly threaten Fardeen and demand money. Fardeen reportedly discussed this matter with his friends and they planned to kill Saddam. The accused called Saddam for drinks, beat him with an iron rod and killed him.

Later, they carried the body on a two-wheeler and dumped it on the railway track. The police have now sent the accused to jail and further investigation is under way.
