CHIKKAMAGALUR: Six people have been arrested for hunting a deer at the Muthodi range of the Bhadra tiger reserve, adjacent to a coffee estate at Hulavatti village in the taluk.
Mohammed Shakil and the other had shot a deer and were preparing to have a feast with the meat when the range forest officials, acting on specific information, raided the place and seized 8 kg of meat and a countrymade gun.
It is said that the deer weighed about 25 kg and some members of an NGO were also present where the meat was being prepared. Further investigations are under way.
