Sira municipal council member’s son arrested in stabbing case

BENGALURU: The son of a member of the Sira municipal council has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a person during a fight in a drunken state, at Bidaranakere in Sira taluk. The injured Nagesh, a resident of Banninagar in Sira, was immediately admitted to Government Hospital for treatment where his condition is said to be serious.

The accused Hemantn is the son of Girija Vijay Kumar, a member of the Sira municipal council. It is alleged that Hemanth had organised a party with friends at his farmhouse. At that time, a verbal argument broke out between two groups, which later escalated into a physical fight.

The situation turned violent and Hemanth allegedly stabbed Nagesh with a knife. The incident, Tavarekere police have taken Hemanth and Puneeth into custody and are questioning them. The police also visited the spot, registered a case, and have taken up further investigation.
