HASSAN: The seer of Shravanabelagola Mutt, Swastishri Shri Charukeerthy Bhattaraka Swamiji (73), breathed his last in Channarayapatana taluk on Thursday morning.
For the past four months, seer Charukeerthy Bhattaraka Swamiji of Sri Kshetra Shravanabelagola Jain Mutt has been suffering from an illness. The seer collapsed on Thursday morning due to variation in blood pressure and diabetes.
The doctors at the Mutt immediately shifted him to the Adichunchanagiri Hospital in Belur by ambulance for further treatment, but the seer passed away without responding to treatment.
