Shivamogga civic body removes banners, cutouts put up for religious procession after violence

All arches, banners and cutouts were removed in Shivamogga by the civic body.

SHIVAMOGGA: A day after stone-throwing and violence in Shivamogga during the Eid Milad procession, the Shivamogga City Corporation pulled down all arches, cutouts and other material put up at Hamid Circle in the city.

The corporation also removed a massive sword that was put up on display near Pavitra Hotel and the Tipu Sultan cutout on KR Puram Road.

The gangmen of the civic body also removed all other cutouts that were put up across the city. Banners and green cloth pandal put on along the length of the road in Ragigudda locality was also removed.

The move came close on the heels of senior BJP leader demanding that all the provocative material be removed immediately. If it is not cleared, trishuls will be planted everywhere, he had warned.
