Shariq gave Sandur address for SIM card with stolen Aadhaar card

BALLARI: The accused in the Mangaluru blast case, Mohammed Shariq, had procured a SIM card in the name of Arun Kumar Gouli, a resident of Sandur and had given a Sandur address too.

Arun Kumar, a mechanical engineering and MBA graduate, is working with a private company in Bengaluru. He had lost his Aadhaar card about one-and-half years ago.

said that during investigations into the SIM cards used by terror suspect, one was found to be registered in the name of a Sandur resident. “When we questioned the individual, we realised that he was not connected with the case. He told us that he had lost his purse about one-and-half years ago and using that, Shariq had procured a SIM”, he said.

 

The SP also advised people who may have lost their documents to check if their documents are being misused by logging on to the TAFCOP (Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management & Consumer Protection portal of the Department of Telecommunications (tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in).
