Seven from Haveri taluk on Char Dham yatra who were stuck after landslide on their way back

HAVERI: Seven pilgrims from Chikkerur and Tilavalli village in the taluk, who had been on the Char Dham Yatra and had got trapped at Joshimath in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand after a landslide are now safely on their way back home. They reached Delhi on Saturday evening and will continue their journey back to the state.

The group consisting of Sridhar M Holalkeri (62), Shanta S Holalkeri (57), Ashok S V (61), Bharathi A S (55), Venkatesh Pampan (62), Rajeshwari Pampan (60) and Rahul Pampan (35) had set out on June 29 for the Char Dham Yatra.

Earlier this month, they had put out a video statement seeking help. “We have been stuck here for the last three days due to the landslide. We request the Karnataka government to rescue us”, one of the group members had said.
