Security staff thrashing one of those who allegedly threatened Ballari Rural MLA B Nagendra.

BALLARI: Two men, who were among a group of four who had allegedly threatened Ballari Rural MLA B Nagendra on the day of counting of votes, were thrashed by the security staff of the MLA and handed over to the police. Though the incident occurred on May 13, it has come to light only now.

Last Saturday, Ramesh, Venkatesh and two others, all residents of Ballari, allegedly threatened MLA Nagendra in the guise of congratulating him when he was preparing to take out a procession from the counting centre. The four stopped Nagendra’s car and when he stepped out to greet them thinking they were there to congratulate him on his victory, his security staff noticed that the four were carrying sharp weapons.

The security staff managed to catch hold of Ramesh and Venkatesh and thrashed them before handing them over to the police. A case has been registered against the four under Section 504 and 506 for threat to life at the Cowl Bazaar police station.
