BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s (BBMP) proposed parking policy 2.0 has run foul of the ruling party leaders themselves.
The civic body has proposed to implement the parking policy in 723 roads in the city. As per the proposal, fines will be levied if vehicles are parked in front of houses too.
However, the proposed policy has come in for criticism from some BJP leaders themselves. They had written to Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and to the BBMP to withdraw the parking policy. It remains to be seen if the government succumbs to the pressure from its own leaders.
