TUMAKURU: One person was taken into custody after he was found to be in possession of Rs 14 lakh in cash and 128 gm of gold while travelling in a private bus (KA 06 F 1296) plying between Bengaluru and Tumkuru on Thursday night. The arrested was identified as Vadla Nagabhushan of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh.
Nagabhushan was carrying the cash and gold in a bag and it was revealed during checks at the Batawadi checkpost. Nagabhushan was not in possession of any documents pertaining to the cash or the gold.
Election officials have seized the cash and gold and a case has been registered at the NEPS police station here.
