BENGALURU: A gang of rowdies assaulted two youths in front of Lakshmi Bar in Vigneshwarnagar with a machete allegedly for not giving them ‘respect’.
The incident took place in Byadarahalli police station limits. The two victims, Abhi and Naveen, were standing in front of a liquor shop when a gang of rowdies, including Apple Santosh, Dandhe Shiva, Complex Abhi and Revanth approached them. They asked the youths, “Are you not afraid of us, won’t you give us respect?”
Abhi and Naveen later returned home, but Naveen contacted Dhande Shiva and asked him, “Will you attack us?”. In a fit of rage, Shiva’s gang then came to Naveen’s house, attacked him with sticks and also assaulted his father, who was trying to stop the fight and protect his son.
The accused, including Kari Kiran, Dandhe Shiva, Revanth, Ture Suresh and Psycho Sidda, were arrested by police. The police suspect that they attacked Abhi and Naveen due to an old rivalry. The Byadarahalli police are looking out for the remaining accused.
“About 4-5 people who came to our house with weapons at night, holding them behind their backs. The gang barged into the house, chased Naveen and assaulted him. Abhi was also injured in the incident. Now both are hospitalized. Police came and recorded their statement”, said Lakshmi, victim Naveen’s aunt.
