BENGALURU: A motorist was almost waylaid by robbers near Primus Public School on Chikkanayakanahalli Road in Doddakanahalli near Sarjapur around 6:40 pm on Monday. However, on noticing the dashcam fitted in the car, the robbers walk away.
In the dashcam video, shared on X by Citizens Movement, East Bengaluru, four men can be seen standing by the side of the road while one of them comes in front of the car, armed with a big rock. However, the robber noticed the dashcam and walked away, leaving the family in the car unharmed.
With poor streetlighting on interior roads, such instances are increasing in different parts of the city. Along with the dashcam video, Citizens Movement, East Bengaluru posted on saying, “Sir, there’s a pressing issue of the non-functional streetlights on these internal roads”, and tagged Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, the Bengaluru City Police and the City Police Commissioner. The Bengaluru City Police replied to the post on X, saying “We have forwarded your petition to concerned police officers for necessary action”.
Later on, an FIR was registered at the Bellandur police station and further investigation is under way.
