RAICHUR: The warden of the Dr B R Ambedkar Residential School at Udamagal-Khanapura, in the district has been accused of assaulting students for asking for notebooks and pens. The students and parents allege that the warden, along with other teachers and staff, has been physically abusing the children without reason.

The school has 125 students from grades 1 to 5, and the parents are demanding improvements in the facilities, including access to clean drinking water, laundry services, and protection for the children. The parents claim that the warden is trying to deflect the allegations, stating that the complaints are motivated and that they are working to improve the facilities.

The incident has raised concerns about the treatment of students in the Social Welfare Department’s residential school, with allegations of torture and lack of basic amenities. However, the warden Badesab claimed that false allegations were being levelled against him. “I was posted here only a month ago. We will fix the water filter and resolve other issues. The allegations are being made against me with malafide intentions”, he claimed.
