Residential school students fall ill due to suspected food poisoning in Sindhanur

RAICHUR: More than 20 girl students of a residential school were hospitalised on Friday night after they complained of severe stomachache, suspectedly due to food poisoning. The incident occurred at the Ambedkar residential school at Sindhanur.

The girl students fell ill after lunch and were rushed to the government hospital in Sindhanur. However, the students said no doctor was available for more than two hours, leaving them writhing in pain.

Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Mahesh Potedar inquiring with the students at the hospital.

The students also said they are served food which is not properly cooked and that earlier complaints to the officials concerned have not yielded results. Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Mahesh Potedar visited the hospital on Friday night and inquired about the health of the students.
