KOPPAL: The Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University syndicate has suspended an assistant professor after a research scholar complained of sexual harassment by him.
The researcher, who had taken admission at the Ballari campus, recently shifted to the Yelburga post-graduate centre. She has alleged that Basha had been harassing from the beginning and wrote a letter to the university vice-chancellor.
The V-C placed the matter before the syndicate and it was decided to suspend the assistant professor. The internal complaints committee of the university has since launched an inquiry into the allegation.
