BENGALURU: The decomposed remains of Nigerian national Solomon Ekenay was transferred to his home country on Sunday, 25 days after his murder, after his family appealed to the Indian embassy for his remains.
Solomon Ekenay (40) was stabbed by Obiora Victor Nzekwe in the open street over a dispute regarding his relationship, at Munikempanna Layout in Amruthahalli on October 11. The motive behind the murder was Nzekwe’s suspicion that Solomon was getting into a relationship with his girlfriend.
The Amruthahalli police had buried his remains at the Hebbal crematorium. The family members of the deceased had appealed to the Indian Embassy to hand over the remains of Solomon.
In the presence of the Yelahanaka tahsildar and Amruthahalli police, the body was exhumed and shifted to Nigeria through Kempegowda International Airport.
