Relief for D K Shivakumar as high court quashes five cases over Mekedatu padayatra

BENGALURU: The Karnataka High Court has quashed five cases registered against Congress leader and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar for taking out the Mekedatu padayatra in violation of rules during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The court of Justice M Nagaprasanna also stayed proceedings in a case related to disturbing law and order during a protest in 2022. The case was registered at Shivajinagar police station.
