Recruitments: Metro union complains to Union ministers against MD

BENGALURU: The BMRCL Employees Union has complained to the Railway minister and the Union Urban Development minister against the Metro managing director, alleging that he had recruited 500 employees illegally.

Association vice-president Suryanarayana Murthy alleged that people without the requiste educational qualification have been recruited at the cost of meritorious candidates. The appointments were made without issuing any notification, a retired tahsildar has been recruited as HR manager and people aged between 60 and 75 have been given jobs with salaries running into lakhs per month, the association has alleged.

It further said that people were hired for the posts of chief general manager, chief engineer, executive engineer, deputy chief engineer, general manager, deputy general manager, assistant general manager, adviser, consultant, deputy chief security officer, executive assistant, superviser, trackman and driver without issuing any notification.
