HASSAN: The Attacus Atlas species of moth, which is mostly found in dense forest, was spotted at the Badriya Jama Masjid premises on Azad Road in Sakleshpur, much to the surprise of wildlife enthusiasts.

The rare species is endemic to the thick forests of Asia and is bigger than those found in the Western Ghats. Though the Attacus Atlas species is found in the forests of the Western Ghats, it is very rare to spot the moth in human habitation.
