Ramya is likely to hold a roadshow; Sumalatha has extended support to the alliance candidate.

MANDYA: With actor-turned-politician Sumalatha Ambareesh, who is incumbent Mandya MP, formally joining the BJP and extending her support to the alliance candidate H D Kumaraswamy, the Congress is planning to rope in popular actor Ramya to campaign for its candidate Star Chandru. Ramya too had represented Mandya previously.

Mandya MLA Ganiga Ravikumar said he held talks with Ramya recently and added that she has agreed to join the campaign. Ramya is likely to hold a roadshow with the Congress candidate next week.

Mandya MLA Ganiga Ravikumar said Ramya will join the campaign next week.

Ganiga Ravikumar said, “We are getting good response in the Assembly constituency. On April 12, we will organise a roadshow from Chikkamandya. On April 16, we will have campaign events at 10 places in Mandya city. After the festival, we will also launch door-to-door campaign”.

Further, he said Ramya will join the campaign in Mandya. “Rahul Gandhi will most likely join the campaign on April 17 or 20 and we will organise a massive rally. Ramya too has done a lot of commendable work in the constituency and it will definitely hold us in good stead”, he added.
