Railway clerk accused of sexual exploitation of women, arrested in Hubballi

HUBBALLI: A railway clerk has been arrested for sexual harassment and cheating women with the promise of jobs in Indian Railways.

The accused has been identified as Nadeem, who is a clerk in the finance department of the South Western Railway headquarters. He would target married women aspiring for jobs and then forced them to fulfill his sexual urges.

He had created a job notification page and used to send fake notifications to women, befriend them with the promise of a job at the railway department on the condition that that woman would had to spend a day with his senior officers.

Wheneven he got any contact number of a woam, he would start chatting to build good rapport and invite them by offering a job.

He was caught by a woman hailing from Keshwapur, when he invited her to the railway guest house. The accused had sent a letter to the woman that he had come to Hubballi from Delhi and was staying at the Railway Guest house. He sent a photo of his room to her phone as an invitation. Frightened by this, she informed her husband. Later, the couple lodged a complaint at Keshwapur police station.

The accused was caught red-handed whe he pounced on the woman when she entered the room. The police, who were outside, immediately took Nadeem into custody.  The police investigation revealed that Nadeem had been using a fake ID and had booked a room in the guest house in the name of an IAS officer.

A writing on the room door says, “Welcome, your life changing zone. Aaj ke Baad Aapka Level Chenge Ho Ra hai”. Nadim has been charged with harassment and police are investigating further.
