BENGALURU: A radiologist was arrested by the Anekal police in connection with allegations of molesting and sexually assaulting a woman who had visited his scanning centre for a medical test.
The accused is Jayakumar and the incident reportedly occurred at Plasma Medinostics Scanning Centre in Anekal. Jayakumar allegedly sexually harassed the woman who had come to seek treatment for severe stomach pain by inappropriately touching her hand and private parts during the procedure.

When she resisted, he used obscene language and threatened kill her if she spoke out, even as her husband waited outside. The victim secretly recorded the assault on her phone and had filed complaint at the Anekal police station.
The arrest followed protests led by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Karave) state vice-president Lokesh Gowda, who demanded action against the accused and police inspector, Tippeswamy, for not taking timely action. The protesters had also highlighted the delay in the arrest, which happened 10 days after the incident. The KRV had threatened to shut down Anekal town if the accused wasn’t arrested.
