Questions arise after woman releases video statement claiming she wasn’t kidnapped

BENGALURU: A video of a woman, who was missing since many days and alleged to be kidnapped by HD Revanna, has released a a video statement where she says that she wasn’t kidnapped. The video has now gone viral. A kidnapping case registered against former minister H D Revanna at the  KR Nagar police station over her alleged kidnap. However, questions are being raised about where and when she managed to record the video.

In the video, she made some surprising statements, saying that she was not kidnapped by anyone. She said she had gone to her relative’s house and that her son had lodged a complaint without information. “I was upset about all the talk that was going on in our city and I decided to spend four days at my relative’s house. But after watching TV, I thought why they were doing all this. There is no problem now, hence, I made a video myself to clarify matters”, she says.

In the video, the woman says, “We have no problems from neither Bhavani sister nor do Revanna or Prajwal have anything to do with us. There is no problem on my side. They took care of us. There is no connection with the obsene video.

The woman claimed that she wasn’t kidnapped by anyone else and that she was fine and there is no need to worry. She assured her son that she would be back within two days. “Nothing will happen for me. Don’t get hurt by anyone’s words”, she told her son.

“We are daily wage labourers. Don’t take away our daily bread. Allow us to lead a peaceful life. You are responsible for whatever happened to my husband”, she said expressing displeasure against police officers.

Holenarsipur MLA H D Revanna and his associate Satish Babanna were booked under Sections 364A (kidnapping for ransom), 365 (kidnapping with intent to cause harm), and 34 (common intention) of the IPC. The FIR, registered by KR Nagar police, lists Revanna as accused number one and Satish Babanna as accused number two.
