3 arrested for deliberately blocking car, threatening occupants for honking

BENGALURU: The city police have arrested three people for deliberately blocking a car and threatening the occupants. Several such incidents have been reported earlier where motorists are threatened by two-wheeler riders, mostly to extort them on the pretext of an accident or for other trivial reasons.

In a dashcam video posted by a Twitter user going by the handle RON @ronmania2009, two people on two separate two-wheelers can be seen blocking a car for some distance and then abruptly stopping in the middle of the road. A third two-wheeler rider comes from the opposite direction and deliberately bangs into the car.

Three people were arrested for threatening the occupants of a car.

One of the miscreants can be heard asking the driver in Kannada why he was honking and if the road was a highway. The driver says sorry and quickly backs up for some distance and does a U-turn leaves the place.

“Incident occurred on the new road which is connecting from DSR rivera to Varthur. Goons on the street of Bangalore. Is there any action taken yet on it”, tweeted RON @ronmania2009 while tagging @east_bengaluru, @BlrCityPolice, @blrcitytraffic, @DCPTrEastBCP.

Responding to the tweet, the city police posted, “An FIR has been registered in Varthur PS on the complaint of the victim…There will be no room for such unruly behaviour or hooliganism under our watch, and will be met with severe consequences”.

In anther tweet, the police said, “Zero tolerance towards such deceptive elements. Please note, the accused have been arrested! In the future, please dial #Namma112 for immediate and swift intervention”.
