BENGALURU: Thumbing a nose at the Transport Department, private bus operators have increased fares, anticipating a rush during the Deepavali festival.
The ticket fare in private buses travelling from Bengaluru to Hubballi on October 23 costs around Rs 5,000, whereas a flight ticket costs around Rs 4,849.
Earlier, the Transport Department had warned private bus operators against jacking up ticket prices in the light of the festive season.
