MADIKERI: A private bus travelling from Bengaluru toppled as it was was approaching Madikeri after the driver suffered a heart attack in the early hours on Friday. The incident ccurred near Talatmane, close to Madikeri.
The bus veered off the road and came to a halt tilted to the side. Fortunately, no major tragedy occurred. The driver suffered a severe heart attack, but he managed to steer the bus to the side of the road, saving many lives. The driver was immediately admitted to a hospital near Madikeri where his condition is critical.
As soon as he had the heart attack, the driver managed to move the bus toward the drain. Because of this, the bus tilted and stopped, and the passengers remained safe. The private bus had left Bengaluru on Thursday night with passengers.

The Madikeri traffic police visited the spot and inspected. Since the bus was tilted on the roadside, there was no disruption to other vehicle movement on the highway. Passengers in the bus were anxious for a while. Arrangements were made for the passengers in other vehicles.
Police shifted the driver to a hospital as his condition was serious. A case related to the incident has been registered at Madikeri Rural police station. The bus operates daily from Bengaluru to Madikeri.
