BENGALURU: Avenue Road in KR Market is a major hot spot in the city where there is most business transaction. Considering the congestion in the area, the city traffic police are planning to ban pushcarts and goods vehicles.
On Avenue Road, one cannot even take a step forward due to the movement of people. But, vehicles also ply creating congestion. Therefore, after entry of autorickshaws to Avenue Road was banned, now, pushcarts have been banned from entering Avenue Road.
Not only pushcarts, the traffic police are considering a ban on goods vehicles also during peak hours inside Avenue Road. Traffic police, GBA officers and local MLA have held one round of talks about banning goods vehicles and discussions are going on about allowing goods vehicles during night time, excluding peak hours. Whether goods vehicles should be banned or not will be decided soon.
Due to vehicle movement in Avenue Road, lot of congestion happens and entry of autos and pushcarts has been banned. Whether the entry of goods vehicles also will be banned remains to be seen.
