BENGALURU: Another accused in the PSI recruitment scam, Naveen Prasad, hailing from Magadi, has been arrested by the police. He is said to be close to Sharif Kallimani, a sub-inspector hailing from Gadag.
According to sources, Naveen was a sub-inspector at Byadarahalli police station and had been absconding since the last 7 to 8 months. The Criminal investigation Department had cast a net to nab him. He also had contact with PSI Harish, who has been arrested earlier.
Naveen used to deal with SI aspirants and also had direct contact with FDA Harsha. In November, he had sent his wife to her hometown with their children and he spent time with his girlfriend. The two were residing in an apartment in Byadarahalli police station.
Naveen used to take her around in a Maharashtra registered car. He kept monitoring CCTV footage in the apartment and would always stay in the apartment, to avoid the police. There may be a possibility of questioning his girlfriend by the police, who had provided shelter and given protection for him.
