MYSURU: In the wake of the Mahisha Dasara controversy, the city police have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 from midnight on October 13 till 6 am on October 14. The prohibitory orders will include Chamundi Hills, but exclude Town Hall, according to an order issued by city Police Commissioner Ramesh B.

A Chalo Chamundi Betta campaign was planned to counter the Mahisha Dasara.

Accordingly, no protests, processions, bike rallies will be allowed, no slogans for or against Mahisha Dasara can be raised, no firecrackers will be allowed, not more than five people can assemble at any place, no public meetings can be held and no loudspeakers, flexes, pamphlets or banners can be used when the order is in force.

Any individuals or organisations violating the order and organising meetings, processions, etc will be considered illegal and action will be initiated. However, the prohibitory order will not affect events like weddings and last rites, schools and colleges and those heading to write examinations.
