Pothole in Bengaluru gets 5-star rating on Google Maps with mock reviews

BENGALURU: Did you know of a pothole with a 5-star rating in Bengaluru? It may sound bizzare but after Twitter user Nimo Tai (@Cryptic_Miind) shared a screenshot of a Google location called ‘Abizer’s Pothole’ near to the IT hub of Bellandur in the city, netizens quickly joined in to give it a 5-star rating on Google Maps. There were also hilarious reviews that mocked the poor road infrastructure and potholes.

Nimo Tai, a Twitter user, shared a screenshot of mock reviews on potholes.

The Twitter user shared a screen shot with the caption “In Bangalore, potholes are landmarked on Google and have reviews.” The mock reviews went viral, and Google Maps later removed the “pothole” tag. The Twitter user again shared a fresh screenshot with a caption saying, “Abizers Pothole removed from GMaps, but now we have another one, with new reviews.”

One of the reviews read, “Ever since its appearance, real estate is boomin in the area, in case you are inconvenienced by the pot hole. There is a conveniently located physiotherapist right opposite.”

Another one read, “I was stuck in traffic, so I took a shortcut and found this pothole in the middle of the road. As my bike went in, I landed in another universe, I am sending signals to my folks on Earth to find me. Once you are here u are lost forever.”

The five-star rating by Google users as a must-visit pothole was Bengalurean’s way of expressing outrage over the city’s potholes. The innovative manner of discussing the issue was also praised. Twitter users left some hilarious comments in reply to the posts.
