BENGALURU: For the first time in the state, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have seized fake US dollar and Indian currency notes, with a face value of over Rs 1 crore after raiding a house in Hennur police limits. However, those involved in the printing of fake notes were not present at that time.
The fake note racket was being run by some US returnees and they would print four fake notes on each sheet of block paper. The police suspect that some US-based persons, in association with some locals, were running the racket.
The police have seized block paper, chemicals, inks, and printers which were used to produce the fake notes. They suspect that a group from the US is involved in the racket. A case has been registered at the Hennur police station and the CCB is on the lookout for the accused.
In another case, the CCB raided four locations in Hebbal, Koramangala and Banaswadi and arrested four drug peddlers, including a foreign national.
The peddlers used to sell drugs to youths, college students and also supplied narcotics for weekend parties. The police have seized Rs 25 lakh worth of drugs from the accused who were identified as Amar Mohammed, Shabbir, Yasin and Ramesh.
