BENGALURU: The central crime branch (CCB) police, along with officials of the Women and Child Development Department, rescued 47 children who were begging near mosques in Pulakeshinagar police limits, on Thursday.
The rescued children were handed over to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC). They include four male and two female infants aged between one and 12 months, six boys and six girls aged between one and three years, four girls and two boys aged between three and six years, five girls and 18 boys aged above six years.
The CCB also detained 36 women who were indulging in begging and are questioning them about the antecedents of the children.
