BENGALURU: Though the police have arrested over a dozen people, including actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, another accused who helped in the kidnap from Chitradurga to a shed in Pattanagere in the city is on the run.
The police are on the lookout for ‘Garage Manju’ who arranged a white Mahindra Scorpio and and autorickshaw to kidnap Renukaswamy, which he later hid. The SUV has since been seized by the police.
Meanwhile, the police have sealed the shed in Pattanagere where Renukaswamy was alleged tortured and brutally assaulted leading to his death. On Wednesday, the accused including Darshan, Pavithra Gowda and the others were taken to the shed for spot inspection. The FSL teams also collected evidence from the spot.
On Thursday, Police Commissioner B Dayananda also visited the shed and inspected the place. An FSL team also accompanied the police chief to collect more evidence. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Girish also visited the spot. A Tata Ace goods vehicle which bore blood marks, fingerprints of the accused and against which Renukaswamy’s head was allegedly banged, was also seized.
