Police lathicharge fans who came to buy tickets for RCB vs CSK match

BENGALURU: The police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd of fans who had come to buy the Indian Premier League (IPL) tickets for the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chinnaswamy Stadium, on Saturday.

A large number of fans fans had come to buy tickets for the high voltage between the two teams on Monday. The tickets were sold within a few moments and the stadium staff placed a ‘sold-out’ board at the ticket counter. Fans who couldn’t get tickets tore down the board and expressed their outrage. The police lathicharged the crowd to bring the situation under control.

Both RCB and CSK have huge fan followings and the tickets for Monday’s were sold out quickly. RCB and CSK have played four matches and both teams have won twice. CSK is ranked 6th in the IPL table because of its better net run rate, while RCB  is ranked 7th.
