BENGALURU: Five months after a reinforcement cage of an under-construction Metro pillar cage crashed on a moving two-wheeler, killing a woman and her son near Nagawara, the Govindarajapura police have submitted a 1,100-page chargesheet in court.

The chargesheet names 11 people including engineers of the construction company and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL). The police investigation also took into account the reports by experts from IIT Hyderabad and the Forensic Science Laboratory, which have been submitted along with the chargesheet.

Tons of steel came crashing down on the woman and her child.

The police investigation looked into possible lapses on the part of officials, safety measures at the construction site, design of the pillar among other things.
