BENGALURU: A police constable from the Devanahalli police station was caught red-handed by the Lokayukta while accepting a bribe from a complainant.
Constable Amaresh was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. He, along with PSI Jagadevi and another constable, Manjunath, had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 70,000 to file a chargesheet in a POCSO case lodged against the complainant.

The bribe demand was made to file a chargesheet in a POCSO case registered based on a complaint filed by Bhavyashree. The Lokayukta police took action after receiving the complaint and conducted the sting operation. The case is being investigated further.
