Police constable accused of cheating woman on the promise of marriage, suspended

VIJAYAPURA: A police constable attached to the Gandhi Chowk police station has been accused of cheating a woman with whom he was in a relationship for the last eight months. After the report was telecast on Public TV, SP Rishikesh Sonawane ordered the constable’s suspension.

Vinayak Tikkalaki met a woman on Instagram about eight months ago and the two got into a relationship. Later on, they even had physical relationship. However, when the woman asked to get married, Vinayak refused and went into hiding. Vinayak had also not turned up for work at the police station for the last 20 days.

“We met on Instagram and he cheated me after gaining my trust. He promised to marry me but later refused. He has switched off his phone too. I want justice”, the woman said. She also lodged a complaint with the women’s police station.
