Police bust major racket, seize 6,800 fake marks cards of 15 institutes

The police have recovered 6.800 fake marks cards after raids on some organisations.

BENGALURU: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police has unearthed a major racket in fake marks cards after conducting raids on several institutions in the city and seized 6,800 fake marks cards, computers, laptops, printers and 13 mobile phones.

City Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy told reporters that the CCB had detected the fake marks card racket about one-and-half months ago and, during the course of investigation, raided five organisations which were involved in the racket. The fake marks cards of of 15 universities and institutions and one person has been arrested so far in this connection, he said.

The organisations that were raided are New Quest Technologies, Rajajinagar; System Quest, JP Nagar; Arohi Institute, Bhadrappa Layout; Vishwajyothi College, Dasarahalli and Benaka Correspondence College, Vijayanagar.

Computers, printers and other equipment seized from five organisations that were raided.

The police commissioner warned that those using the fake marks cards may land in trouble and advised citizens to keep away from such institutions.
