BENGALURU: A huge amount of explosives, which were stored illegally, were found after raids on two houses in the City in a swift operation by the Soladevanahalli police.
Shankar, Kumar and Srinivas, who have been accused of illegally collecting explosives, were taken into custody and the Soladevanahalli police are questioning them.
The police searched two houses near Kalluguddahalli and Dasenahalli in Hessaraghatta. They seized 2.5 kg of sulphur powder, 250 grams of explosive gel, 45 kg of potassium nitrate powder, and explosives from the house of Shankar of Kalluguddahalli.
Similarly, the police raided the house of of Srinivas of Raghavendra Layout in Dasenahalli and seized 1.860 kg of explosive gel, charcoal powder weighing 1.950 grams, sulphur powder weighing 7.850 grams, potassium nitrate weighing 13 kg.
The Soladevanahalli police have registered two separate cases in this regard. During the questioning, the three said that they had collected the explosives for blasting at a stone quarry. Further investigation is on.
