BENGALURU, KOLAR: The Bengaluru railway police arrested a drug peddler on the SMVT Express train running from Agartala to SMVT and seized 32.888 kg ganja from the him. The accused has been identified as Deepan Das (20), a native of Agartala, while two other accused, Suman from Tripura, and Biswajeet, a native of Bengaluru, escaped.
The accused was working as a bed roller with the railways on contractual basis. The train has a separate compartment for bedsheets, pillows and other items. The accused used to keep ganja inside the pillows and bed sheets. Deepan Das was caught red-handed, while the other two accused escaped.
In Kolar, the Gulpet police arrested a drug peddler and seized 18 grams of MDMA crystals and a Hyundai car. The accused has been identified as Samir Pasha of Prasanta Nagar in Kolar. The police nabbed him based on a tip-off.
